History: Head Coach Mike Roberts guided the Tar Heels to the NCAA Tournament after finishing atop the Atlantic Coast Conference with an in-conference record of 10-2-0, and winning the ACC tournament for the second of what would be three consecutive times from '82 to '84. The team featured three players who went on to have MLB careers: Scott Bankhead, B.J. Surhoff and Walt Weiss. The current Tar Heels play their home games at Bryson Field at Cary C. Boshamer Stadium, Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
